My first picture book 'That 17th Hat' is ready

I feel a bit like a proud mom: the first picture book that I illustrated is ready and I'm holding it in my hands right now. I couldn't have guessed this would happen a little over 2,5 years go. Back then I was working as graphic designer for an advertising agency and was pretty fed up with that job. Quitting my job was the best choice ever. See where it got me!

Almost ready...

I've been working for the last couple of months on this and it's almost ready: 'That 17th Hat'. I'm working on the last pages as we speak and then it's ready to go the printers. It will be released on December 1st, 2011.

Edit For those who are curious what this book is exactly: it's a picture book, written by Trevor Eissler and illustrated by me. This is a 3D model I photoshopped myself, the actual book isn't completely ready yet.

I'm working on a picture book called 'That 17th Hat' right now. It will be released early 2012 and it's about, surprise, hats! :D

The last couple of months I mainly worked digitally but for my first picture book I decided to go back to paint. I use gouache for this book, which is the very first time I used it.

I really like the analog feel of it and I think I will work like this more often.
